IWPT 2015 - Bilbao 22-24 July
The 14th International Conference on Parsing Technologies
IWPT 2015 continues the tradition of biennial workshops/conferences on parsing technology initiated by Masaru Tomita and organized by SIGPARSE, the Special Interest Group on Natural Language Parsing of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL). The first workshop in Pittsburgh and Hidden Valley has been followed by conferences in Cancun (Mexico) in 1991; Tilburg (Netherlands) and Durbuy (Belgium) in 1993; Prague and Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) in 1995; Boston/Cambridge (Massachusetts) in 1997; Trento (Italy) in 2000; Beijing (China) in 2001; Nancy (France) in 2003; Vancouver (Canada) in 2005; Prague (Czech Republic) in 2007; Paris (France) in 2009; Dublin (Ireland) in 2011; and Nara (Japan) in 2013.
This year, IWPT will take place in Bilbao, the Basque Country, within easy reach of most of Europe through its international airport. The city is truly attractive for visitors following its development in recent years. In the centre of Bilbao stand the Guggenheim Museum, the Fine Arts Museum, and the Auditorium of the University of the Basque Country, Bizkaia Aretoa, where the conference will be located, all of which are close to the Old Town.
Bilbao is located in the Basque Country, at the north of the Iberian peninsula. The Basque Country is renowned for its gastronomy, nature and friendly atmosphere for visitors. The climate is mild in summer, with a temperature between 15 and 30ยบ C. Bilbao is close to both the seaside and nice mountains.
This year, IWPT will be co-located with the 6th Workshop on Statistical Parsing of Morphologically Rich Languages (SPMRL 2015).
Papers accepted for presentation at the conference will be included in the IWPT 2015 proceedings, which will be published by the ACL. After the conference, a selection of papers in extended and revised form will be published as a special issue of the Journal of Language Modelling.
