In this webpage you will find information concerning the Syntactically Annotated Historical Corpus in Basque (in Basque, "Sintaktikoki Etiketatutako Euskarazko Corpus Historikoa").

The development of resources for the syntactic exploration of the historical corpus in Basque will allow us to make systematic diachronic analysis about some main features of the Basque grammar, to study the evolution of certain grammatical structures as well as to compare them with the theoretical discoveries in current diacronic syntax and theoretical linguistics. Indeed, the syntacticaly annotated historical corpus will show us how some syntactic structures have evolved over the centuries.

The work methodology we have set up to carry out the project includes the following main steps:

- composition and preparation of the corpus

- corpus annotation

- development of a corpus search interface
