IXA Group is a member of the Basque Advanced Informatics Laboratory (BAILab), a Teaching and Research Unit recently created by the University of the Basque Country to promote cooperation between its research groups. BAILAB was presented last week in the Gipuzkoa Science and Technology Park, Miramón, Donostia (BAILab_Miramon_Flyer.pdf). The 108 members of BAILab are researchers in the following research groups from the Computer Science Faculty:

- GALAN: Grupo de Entornos de Aprendizaje Adaptativos (LIPCNE.pdf)

- LoRea: Logic and Reasoning Group (LoRea.pdf)
- RSAIT:Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RSAIT.pdf)
BAILab‘s mission is to provide advanced computational methods in the following areas:
- Adaptive learning environments
- Automated reasoning
- Autonomous systems
- Data mining
- HCI and multimedia systems
- High performance computing
- Language processing technologies
- Natural interaction
- Smart systems
- Web and distributed systems
All these lines of research belonging to the field of Information Technology and Communication, fall under two areas of specialization defined by the Campus of International Excellence Euskampus: (1) Innovative and New Materials and Processes (2) Quality of Life and Healthy Ageing.
